the most wonderful time of the year

Christmas was a couple days back, but hopefully y’all all had a wonderful day/few days, whether you spent it with friends or family (or both). We usually don’t do as extravagant of a meal as we do for Thanksgiving, since we usually just stay at home for Christmas with the family.

happy holidays! eat lots of food!

happy holidays! eat lots of food!

But this time around, we invited our neighbor to come join us for Christmas lunch, since she had to stay home alone and work while the rest of her family went to go visit other family members. So, my parents prepared this lovely Christmas lunch (I helped with one dish and the dessert, if that counts?) that, like our Thanksgiving dinner, combines both elements of Chinese cooking with American cooking. Our neighbor also bought a dish, and though I have no idea what it’s called (at least, I have no idea what it’s called in English), it was so incredibly good!

Once again, if you’re interested in any particular dish, let me know and I can hit you up with a recipe from my mom! She’d be more than happy to share.

Enjoy the rest of the holidays!
